Letter Writing Process
I follow the World Professional Association of Transgender Health (WPATH) standards of care when writing affirmation letters. I have extensive experience with writing letters for gender affirming care, working with medical providers, training other therapist, and working with surgeons.
My assessments for adults usually take one session, occasionally two to three. My assessments for adolescents involve individual time with the adolescent, family involvement, and can take 2-3+ sessions depending on complexity. I believe in the informed consent model when working with individuals. We will talk about risks, benefits, knowledge of the procedure, and your personal goals. . We will touch on your thoughts about fertility, if relevant, and how these things will impact your psychosocial health.
Once I have completed the assessment, I will write the letter which we will review together. If you have any suggested changes I will consult with you, complete and sign the letter, and provide you with a digital PDF of it. If you need me to email or fax a letter to your doctor or surgeon, I am more than happy to as well.
Insurance Coverage/ Self Pay Rates
I accept multiple insurance plans depending on the state. I also accept self-pay rates at $120 per session. I am willing to work with you depending on your financial situation as well.
